The Big Time Out is a 3-day concert style event on 1 stage that appeals to the young and young at heart. With world-class musicians, like headliners De la Soul, Metric, Matisyahu and K'naan, descending on Cumberland the local population is expected to more than double. The Big Time Out promises to be a huge party. A funky carnival style setting is planned for inside the gates at Cumberland Village Park. The festive vibe, created by circus performers, fire spinners and colorful dancers, is often in collaboration with edgy dj sets and visual projections. Expect the unexpected!
The entire lineup for this summers adventure is impressive. Earth shaking dance grooves come from hot acts like Five Alarm Funk, Shane Philip, Ganga Giri, Delhi 2 Dublin & Third Eye Tribe. Independent rocks latest overnight success story Daniel Wesley, kicks it out. Israeli rockers Moshav, homegrown talent bigredtruck, The CR Avery Band, Wil, You Say Party! We Say Die! and Small Sins all provide spectacular live shows. Victoria’s nightclub sensation Velvet/Kuba Oms, Mat the Alien and a host of talented Dj’s bring a fun, urban, electronica-tinged edge to this event.

Seun’s father, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, was Nigeria’s most beloved popular musician and most acerbic social critic until his death in 1997. Seun began his musical career at nine years of age opening for his father with Egypt 80. Keeping his father's spirit alive Seun still performs with the same band, a power-house of explosive dance grooves, the hookiest basslines, big spectacle and politicised energy. Much of the magic of their live shows derives from the energetic exchange between at least 18 musicians and dancers. It’s a full-on, funk sound that’ll take you to the edge and back.
